(I Know People Come and Go) But Can You Stay A Little Longer

Part of an ongoing research into what the earth offers seasonally and locally, wherever I am. During spring in Itoshima, all plants and ingredients were gathered within walking distance of Kura Studio 1. Most would be classified as weeds — the lowest in the hierarchy of plants, overlooked and unwanted. Yet locally, these same plants are eaten regularly, quietly valued by those who know the land.
Through culinary experimentation, this work became an attempt to extend the season's presence — to hold what is temporary just a little longer.
